    Hey Tom,

It REALLY works - one thing I forgot but which is a given is make sure to post the results on your blog and link to it from the press release!

  3. Hi Guys,

I totally agree Press Releases can be a terrific PR (Public Relations) booster for sites and blogs. I assume this will be part of your “full course”. Right?

When writing a “Press” release remember it is a Media release, not only newspapers, but periodicals, even television (if it is worthy). Headlines are critical to any Press Release as well as worthwhile content. Think and research newspapers for headlines (Amazon book titles for ideas, too) for headlines that grab your eye and force you to read more!

They are human edited so must be a worthy “article”, and the editors are who need to be impressed…first.

The survey idea is a very good idea if it is data people are interested in reading.

Just some thoughts, look forward to your release, hope it’s cheap enough so as not to omit the folks who need it the most.

  5. Can your blogging course be done at our leisure, or does it have to be viewed and worked on at specific times? I am taking care of a very active two year old and a five year old so it is very difficult to do anything at specific times.
I would really like to be part of this but there is no sense if there are only certain times I can participate.
    Thanks.

    Hey Cheryle,

These can be done WHENEVER you want and at your own time. You will have access to all the videos indefinitely.

  6. Just what I’ve been looking for! My blog already sees 5,000 unique visitors per month but garnering media attention has been difficult. I will implement your idea this week!

  7. I hope you have step-by-step instructions for
    all us green-horns :)

    Hi Gary,

Then videos in the course were made just for you. :-)

Because I wanted to eliminate any chance of overload, I ‘chunked’ each bit of the process down into
bite-size easily digestible pieces especially for ‘greenhorns’ as you call ‘em.

    Enjoy!

  10. I am going to deviate slightly. You have advanced too quickly for this slow poach, I am still struggling to link onlywire i.e. the savepage fr the way that you are demonstrating it. When I click on safepage fr it is not possible to move it anywhere. Then what I don’t understand is where should I move it to, because the window that I have simply don’t have the same information that you have on your demo and I don’t know how to get it there.
    Please bear with me

Took me once or twice too! reply on May 3, 2008 6:49 pm:

I had to try a few times to get this to work too. Just hold your left mouse button down on the Save Page (fr) and then drag it up to the bar right below the area that you type website address into (the http:// area). Just release the mouse in the row right below that. That should work. Good luck!

  11. I have finally tried to post my blog to digg. It keeps telling me there is a problem with my URL. I copied and pasted it so it has to be correct.
    Here is my URL
    http://ladiesridesquamish.com/squamishmountainbiking/
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
I have added it to my website ladiesridesquamish.com instead of it having its own domain.
As you can probably tell, I really don’t know what I am doing.
    Help

    Hi Cheryle,

If you were trying to add your link to your Digg profile, that link should work.

Otherwise, I don’t see where I can Digg individual posts on your blog.

You can download the ShareThis plugin through the Wordpress site at:

It includes Digg and many other social bookmarking sites.

  22. Enjoyed your pre-course videos and am interested in your full course. Will be on vacation till May 9th. Would I still be able to take your course?

  23. Love this! Can’t wait to try it. I would especially love to see a sample press release/poll, or the ones you used in this example. I’ve found that the biggest stumbling blocks for me in implementing new tools like this is imagination. If I have an example of how someone else has phrased things in a similar situation, it becomes very easy for me to imagine how I might adapt that to my own blog and how many different angles I might take on a poll or a press release. But when faced with a totally new (to me) idea like this, it’s hard to bring it out of the clouds and onto my plate! Will you be sharing more concrete examples in the course?

    [Reply]

  24. The pre-course is fantastic!
By any chance do you have a payment plan for us poor folks?
    Thanks!

  26. All I can say is amazing. I can not tell you the value and ease this pre-course has been. Ive learned so much. I want to thank you, although I see behind the curtain and understand the “marketing” that you have done! Bravo! I did try to log onto the official “launch” on the 29th of April, but was unable to connect. Could be all these storms…..speaking of storms, yet another is heading my way so its time to log off!

Thankyou for your gifts of knowledge.
