The best part here is that not only are they free - but they are IMMEDIATE.

Are they going to make you millions? No.

Are they going to generate thousands of visitors? Not right away (in due time, maybe).

  1. FIRST! I always wanted to do that. LOL.
    —————————————
    ONLYWIRE.COM
I’ve tried OnlyWire, I’ve found that some of the social networks don’t work that are listed.

    DIGG.COM
But was for Digg.com I agree with Anik with a traffic growth. A good tip to get started if you don’t have any friends or submitted any news or content, POST QUALITY COMMENTS that relate to the someones digg.

    ———————————-
TIPS TO BUMP YOUR DIGG ACCOUNT:

    #1: Comment on other people

#2: Digg other dugg stories or interesting content

#3: Make friends (I look forward to members area feature on the 29th)

#4: And Add the Digg Code. (Should it be placed on the top of the post or at the bottom like suggested in the video?)

    ———————————-

Remember its all about the conversation, be thoughtful and be yourself on digg.

    Good luck.

  2. Yea your right Anthony. All though I haven’t had any issues with OnlyWire.com

I also found that blip.tv is great for posting video to multiple zones and del.icio.us was also a good site to use.

I’ve had some good traffic so far, but no conversions and nobody clicking on my Google Ads yet. :-(

  3. Great tips Anik! Keep ‘em coming. Thanks.

  4. Hi there! I loved the conference call and would like to join tomorrow, BUT . . . I didn’t realize I was dialing internationally (not your fault, I just forgot you guys live in Canada). My cell phone carrier just informed me that the call cost me 49 cents a minute! OUCH!

For the “Yanks” on the call it would be helpful if you could provide us with a US number to dial into. Could you find out if the company you use will allow you to have 2 dial-in numbers? One for Canada and one for US? Otherwise I’ll just have to be content with the online course.

    Thanks!

    Hi Leslie,
Just a thought, have you tried skype (VoIP)? I live in the UK and just skype all the conference calls I decide to take part in.

Skype has voice recognition implemented and I normally have to say the access code after I’ve been connected to the main number.

Mobile (cell) phone is very expensive because the telecommunication connections for a mobile ‘phone call is more complex. There are usually more than one network operator involved in most national and international call l set-up. Each network operator charges us for the the use of their service at each stage of the connection:-)

Skype is easy to use. Expect a short learning curve. Hope you have fun using skype, it’ll definitely save you money:-)

    [Reply]

  5. I didn’t get the sound either as it would be a toll call for me too. While I live in the US, the cell signal where I live is unusable. I only use cell when I’m on the road.

I would probably prefer the on-line course too. What’s this about tomorrow?

Video #1 - Immediate Traffic - Digg.com only talks about basic using - how to use. This video is not for the old players. Do you have strategies to get hundreds of diggs instantly if you don’t have friends in the Digg?

    [Reply]

  7. Hi Anik and Ros!
I have a conference room the two of you can use, so folks don’t have to disl in unless they’re on Macs. Or if they’re on Skype I could just invite them to a group Skype call, so the call will be free for them. I think we can have up to 25 people on Skype. My conference room holds unlimited amt of people.
Oh yea, did my assignment and even added the PHPbay Lite plugin today.

    Loving Digg….
do you add the Digg html to posts that are not submitted to Digg?

    Onlywire….
I’m about halfway through the list and q few of these are no longer active or have changed urls ( Blue Dot is now Faves) will that still work?

and Linktopia has a stern note before signing up that this is exactly what they dont want. Is it worth the complaints to our hosting company????

I am having a very difficult time editing my wordpress. It does not edit in frontpage. I need to see the images so I can’t use notepad. Thanks

  19. I totally love the digg video…and onlywire was useful too..

I registered with Overwire a long time ago and found out that some of the sites are “no followthrough”, ie overwire is great for traffic but is not necessarily the best for instant backlinks, as some bookmarking sites won’t allow it.

Some of the overwire sites don’t exist anymore so don’t keep trying if they don’t work. DIGG does provide backlinks, but popular sites like facebook, Stumbleupon don’t.

I used ping sites like pingomatic and I think pingoat is accepting new people for beta testing. I also find that there are software programs like blog and ping that will automate things if you have many sites

    I hope that helps :)

  20. Oh I forgot to also ask if these videos are going to stay on the web or if they are being taken down soon as they are seriously good!!

    [Reply]

  21. HELP!! I’m trying to upload the plugins following Rosalind’s video, which is very clear. However, since I’m on a Mac I have downloaded and installed Cyberduck ftp software and have met a stumblingblock. When I try to open a connection I am asked for Server, URL (which populates automatically), username and password. I have used http://ftp.mywordpressblogdomain.com and the username (admin) and password I set myself. But Cyberduck keeps telling me the connection failed. Am I using wrong settings? I have used ftp before on the PC, but always to an html site and not a blog. I’m stuck and would really appreciate help.
    Thanks!

These classes are so good… thank you Anik and Rosalind!

Have had no problem with digg but major hassel with only wire… it wouldn’t allow me to put it on the Explorer Bar as shown in the video but it would only allow me to put it in favourites in the links. Which I did. But now I can’t get where to put the postings.grrrrrrrrrrrr!
Is there any chance of getting a link straight onto my blog? I use typepad not wordpress.

Only wire does have some problems and digg traffic doesnt click ads, same with SU. No idea why anik or Ros would use these as “traffic methods”

Anik Singal reply on April 25, 2008 2:52 pm:

    Shane,

Onlywire recently started having some issues - but for the most part it works. Also, some times it hangs, I just give it a minute…

Someone recently told me of another service that does something similar - but apparently not out yet, so I’m looking around for an alternate.

As for Digg - for my blogs, Digg has referred me the BEST people who not only RSS feed subscribe but also leave comments and get active. Sometimes it’s not ALL about getting the “ad clicks” in the beginning.

The more of those dedicated readers you get, the more exponential your traffic growth will be - the ad clicks will come, you also want to see WHERE you’ve placed your ads.

Traffic is Traffic - it’s not like Digg sends you “mystery visitors” that specifically won’t click (but yes, their visitors may be a bit more advanced and used to blogs).

Either way, good readers, good content will build that community which you need for a blog to be successful.

  26. Julia reply on

    Hi All,

Ok, I watched the videos and it is very clear how to do what Roz/Anik said to do. However, I don’t really get why. Specifically:

So I sign up for Onlywire and I start my own bookmark list all over the web filled with bookmarks from my own site. Who cares? Who is going to look at my bookmark list? Does this mean that I have to go get friends so that we exchange bookmarks? (And if so, I would rather spend my time writing good blogs than surfing for false friends) Or do people find out about my bookmarks some other way?

Digg makes a little sense to me because for a short time, my page will remain on “upcoming” which gets it a little publicity. But the social bookmark thing, I don’t get it…

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Julia

I was joining the sites in onlywire when I noticed that some of the sites already closed their registration because of heavy spamming. There were also stern warnings about using their sites for internet marketing.

How can we use this method to generate traffic if some of these sites are closing the doors to spammers.

And onlywire is also good but I have found a better website “http://www.socialmarker.com”. It offers more services than onlywire.

Neither does blogmemes.

Some of these sites are not interested in allowing onlywire users to access them. Any recent info on this?
